Savon Barbaarit

Savon Barbaarit ry is founded in january 1995. We had 20 memers then.
Our first gym had 60 squaremeters of space. Our current gym has 120 squaremeters of space.
There are about 40 active members and some supporting members too.

At the moment, our gym is located in Teknia and our chairman is
Kari Turunen (041-4483605), secretary Toni Jormalainen (040-5261332) and
as an all-around guy and fund manager Jukka Hartikainen (0400-700610).

Our members are 20-50 years old professionals of various occupations, so we can
service our gym equipment ourselves.

The associations actions are funded with monthly membership fees.
To fund our equipment purchases, we organize various events and our sponsors help us out too.

We also use our funds to support those individuals who are willing to compete in stromgest men,
weightlifting, bodybuilding and arm-wrestling competitions. The team is mainly focused
on the strongman competitions, both by organizing and attending to them.

Also Juha Räsänen is training with SB-team, bringing lots of fame to us by winning FC-99
third, FC 2000 third, Team EC 2000 second. Juha has allso been succesfull in the big world,
he won the American Hercules 2000 contest.

For practicing, SB-team has large variety of equipment: ball shaped stones 100kg - 180kg,
power stairs, conanwheel etc. Equipment is allso used by persons who are not members of SB-team.
If you are interested in strong men competitions, come to train with us.

Most of the people are just training for fun. We organize various events for the members of SB-team.
For example the traditiol annual summer olympics.
